Pillar to post ...

We're a little crazy right now, hence our silence. But if you check back in a few days, I promise a delicious account of many things, including Michael Ondaatje's visit, a trip out to the Cevennes to see Bob and Isabel Huggan (in one of the most fairy-tale houses we've ever seen,) and if you're lucky, by the end of the week, Anne will tell you all about our 12km canoe ride down the Hérault last weekend and her trip to Nîmes and surroundings with her friend Brenda. We've got to get it all in though, because next weekend is

PARIS!

... and we won't want to talk about anything else after that.

In the meantime, please enjoy this porcini mushroom, picked fresh (although, sadly, not by me) in the nearby Black Mountains. We ate it sliced thin as paper, with olive oil and lemon on it. I don't think I have to tell you how good it was.
